We met on the infamous dating app, Tinder. Kirstie was hesitant to try this approach, but thanks to the encouragement of a friend, she gave it a shot. Looking back, she remembers seeing Nick's picture with him holding a guitar and a big smile on his face and was instantly interested. Nick was drawn to the fact that Kirstie was family oriented with good morals (pictures tend to say a lot). And that was extremely uncommon on Tinder based on Nick's experience. We "matched" pretty quickly and started messaging. Conversation came easily and we found that we had a lot in common, including mutual friends. 

It only took about a day of messaging back and forth for us to realize that we wanted to meet each other in person, but it took a week for Nick to ask the question. We had plans to go to a local brewery, but when Nick's driveway flooded that day, we changed the venue to his neighborhood hangout, Pub in the Park.

We planned more dates and continued to get to know each other. One of those dates included Kirstie going to a show featuring Nick playing bass. Kirstie was nervous because she didn't know anyone except Nick, but his dad was there and kept her company while the band was on stage.

After about a month, we both knew that we didn't want to date anyone else. Shortly after, we met each other's families and friends. Over the next year we bought bikes, went on family trips, cooked many dinners together, prayed together and eventually realized that we loved each other deeply and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. 

On May 5, 2017 after one year of dating, Nick sent Kirstie on a surprise scavenger hunt in his house which eventually led her to Pub in the Park. He proposed outside with our parents hiding inside watching. Kirstie loves reminiscing on that day and the thoughtfulness Nick took in planning it, which made her feel so loved. 

We are so thankful that God brought us together and excited to start this journey together.
